The Who 's2006 album , "Endless Wire". The single was released exclusively to theiTunes Music Store on17 July 2006 and a Maxi-CD/12" was released a week later (see2006 in British music ). The single was released as a "mini-opera" in six songs. No North American distribution was secured prior to the release of the full album, "Endless Wire". As of August 3, 2006, it is the best selling Who album on iTunes in the UK.The single reached the top three on the
Canadian Singles Chart . The songs from this album were used in the rock musical adaptation of "The Boy Who Heard Music " which debuted in July 2007 as part ofVassar College 's Powerhouse Summer Theater workshop series.Track listing
All sections of the rock opera were written by
Pete Townshend , and it was produced by Pete with help from engineers Bob Pridden and Myles Clarke.

The songs
"Sound Round" was reportedly written for the
1971 album "Who's Next " but not recorded. "Mirror Door" was released ahead of therock opera forradio play inJune 2006 , but initial reaction was lukewarm due to a questionable mix. Between dates on the 2006 UK and European tour, Pete remixed the track, adding echo to Roger's vocals and giving it a punchier sound.Musicians
