"Theatre Journal" is an academic journal founded in 1949 and an official publication of [http://www.athe.org/index.html The Association for Theatre in Higher Education] . The journal is considered an international authority in the field of performing arts and features social and historical research, production reviews, and theoretical inquiries. It also publishes special issues focusing on narrower topics of interest to students of theatre. The editor is Dr. Jean Graham-Jones of the CUNY Graduate Center.

The journal is published quarterly in March, May, October, and December. Circulation is 2,811 and the average length of an issue is 152 pages.
