The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, ("Knut och Alice Wallenbergs Stiftelse" swe icon), was founded in 1917 by the chairman of the Stockholms Enskilda Bank, Knut A. Wallenberg, and his wife Alice.
The private foundation awards grants to scientific research and education at Swedish universities, institutes and other academic units. The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation is one of the largest Swedish funders of research.Fact|date=June 2008
