Innies and Outties

Innies and Outties is a black-and-white four-panel webcomic by Leonard M. Cachola. It is about the misadventures of Otis, an 8 year-old who wants to rule the world, and Iris, his best friend. Other characters include Iris' grandmother, a vegetarian zombie named Harold, a super hero wannabe named SuperCaz, an ornery robot dog named Eebo, and a mad scientist named Xanathea Xavier (aka Xana).

"Innies and Outties" started February 14, 2000. It is a member of the online comics collective The Nice and was syndicated by Creative Comix. It has been on various websites including Keenspace/Comic Genesis, Drunk Duck, Stu's Comic Connection, Webcomics.com, and the Independent Florida Alligator and has been featured in the webcomic publications "Zoinks!" and "Bounce Comics". Online webcomic events that "Innies and Outties" has been a part of include "Fright Night," "Webcomics Awareness Day/Online Comics Day," and several "Comixpedia" contests.

"Innies and Outties" was also included in Cabaret Voltaire's 2005 exhibit "The Big C", which featured various cancer survivors and their friends and relatives in a night celebrating their artistic endeavours.

There are three print compilations of "Innies and Outties" currently: "It's All Mine and You Can't Have It!", "Phooey! Evil Gets All the Fun!", and "Tell Me You're Not Like This Every Morning" Also available is the best-of digest "Hand-Picked Favorites".

Creator

Leonard M. Cachola is the writer and artist of "Innies and Outties". Cachola was born April 24, 1972 in Houston, TX. In 1996, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and minor in Studio Arts from the University of Houston. He was Editorial and Strip Cartoonist (Strange News and Extra Pepperoni), Photographer, and Columnist for the University of Houston's newspaper, The Daily Cougar, from 1993 until 1996. He attended Royer Studios' Animation Institute of Los Angeles in 1998-1999. He was the house photographer for the 2004 and 2005 Bangkok International Film Festivals. He was a participant in Los Angeles avant-garde organization Cabaret Voltaire's 2005 art exhibit, "The Big 'C'," which featured artists who have survived cancer as well as friends and family.
