Chop-Socky were an Australian based comedy ensemble who developed a cult following in the late 1990’s before disbanding in 1999. Originally forming out of
Latrobe University , they were first discovered by comedy producerJohn Pinder . The group produced comedy for Foxtel’s "the Comedy Channel ", ABC’s "Recovery" programme, theMelbourne International Comedy Festival and3RRR FM, as well as becoming Patrons of theMelbourne Theatre Company .Over the years the group was made up of various contributors before settling on its final cast line-up which included brother and sister team

Working with TV production company
Artist Services (NowGranada Productions - Australia) the group produced "Chop-Socky's : The Prison of Art", which broadcast onFoxtel in 1999. The programme was commissioned byNick Murray and was a narrative comedy shot in the style of a documentary. The story followed the making of a b-grade Hollywood movie being shot in a mental institution. In addition to members of Chop-Socky, the cast also featured veteran Aussie comedy actorGeoff Brooks of "Fast Forward" and "Australia You're Standing In It ".External links
