Darren Chau is an Australian writer, performer and comedian.
Chau was educated at
Camberwell Grammar School and later studied Media and Drama atLa Trobe University .He co-founded the comedy ensemble group
Chop-Socky who gained a cult following in the late 1990’s whilst producing comedy for Foxtel’sthe Comedy Channel ,ABC TV ,3RRR FM and theMelbourne International Comedy Festival .When
Chop-Socky disbanded in 1999, Chau teamed up with comedianBrose Avard (whom he’d met atLatrobe University ) and formed the comedy duoDarren & Brose . The pair then co-founded theLatrobe Media Group and set about writing, performing and producing comedy variety shows for theMelbourne Fringe Festival ,Melbourne International Comedy Festival andChannel 31 .Chau has also written for such TV programs as ABC’s
The Einstein Factor where he worked with hostPeter Berner , and regular guestsBarry Jones ,Matt Parkinson ,Jean Kittson andRed Symons .In 2007 Chau was appointed Programming Manager for Foxtel’s
