Wishaw ,Scotland and was initially built as a council estate. It is separated from the main part of Wishaw and
Gowkthrapple by the two railway lines, one of which is the main West Coast line between Glasgow and London and the other is the Lanark line which runs between Lanark and Milngavie and Dalmuir, which run parallel along the length of the scheme proper. There is a primary school within the housing estate, called Thornlie Primary. Pather can be entered from Caledonian Road through either Lomond Drive or Tarbert Avenue. The streets in Pather are named after Scottish lochs e.g. Ness Street, the aforementioned Lomond Drive and Sunart Street.
From Pather, it is only a 5 minute walk into the town centre and main shopping area of Wishaw. A fifteen minute walk will take you from Pather along farm roads (locally called the "Old Roads") to Overtown or Gowkthrapple.
It contains a post office, two small shops, a hairdressers and one public house. The area between Pather and Gowkthrapple used to be taken up by Pather farm, but unfortunately the farm is no longer there, instead there are empty fields.
A large park area, complete with football goals and children's playparks, stretches from Caledonian Road to the "Old Roads" - the complete length of the estate. You often see kids making their own golf course on this park by inserting a tin can in the ground using canes as flags.
