(2006) |"Phantasmagore" is the 2006 follow-up to 2002's "Commencement", the debut album of rock band
Deadsy . It was released August 22, 2006 throughImmortal Records . "Phantasmagore" had been delayed numerous times since its original release date in 2004, citing label issues and overall complications. A video shoot for the original choice for first single, "Book of Black Dreams" was planned for June, but had to be rescheduled, and was later canceled when director Kenneth Anger actually heard the band's music. The official first single slated for release is 'Carrying Over', which will be released in two forms, the album version, and the acoustic version from the Family Values 2006 compilation album..The album leaked on or around July 31, 2006. This could be due to the band selling copies of the album while on the
Family Values Tour , before the actual public release of the album.Miscellaneous
*Track 9 ("Phantasmagore") contains elements from
Tangerine Dream 's "No Future (Get Off the Babysitter)" from the "Risky Business " original soundtrack.
*Track 10 ("Time") was originally titled "Sands of Time" and contains elements ofLed Zeppelin 's "Immigrant Song". The synthesizer melody is a direct melodic reference to the song, and the accompanying guitar riffs may be somewhat derived from the song as well.Track listing
