Renn Macdonnel Hawkey (born March 29, 1974), also known by the stage name Dr. Nner, was the synthesizer player for the band Deadsy. He was the third member to join after frontman Elijah Blue Allman sent him a Juno-106 synth and a demo tape made by Allman and drummer Alec Puro. About joining Deadsy, Hawkey said, "I never planned on it until Elijah sent me a Juno-106 in 1996 and asked me to join a band with two songs."
He has worked with 30 Seconds to Mars for the band's self-titled debut album.[1]
On September 11, 2008, Dr. Nner apparently left the band in order to concentrate on carpentry and family life. "It was too rough-and-tumble a lifestyle," said the man who has become Renn Hawkey again, full time.
He is married to actress Vera Farmiga, with whom he has a son named Fynn, born January 15, 2009. It was announced in April 2010 Hawkey and wife Vera Farmiga were expecting their second child, due in October. On November 4, 2010, Hawkey and Farmiga welcomed daughter Gytta Lubov Hawkey.[2]
