Petre Marin (nickname: „Jair”), (born September 8, 1973 in Bucharest) is a Romanian footballer who plays for Steaua Bucureşti. He is a defender. He is one of the Romanian gipsy footballers along with Bănel Nicoliţă.

Club career

*Marin made his professional debut in 1993 when he was signed by Sportul Studenţesc of Bucharest. In 1995 he joins FC Naţional Bucureşti, where he stays until 2004, the year when he signed for Steaua. During the 2000 - 01 season, while under contract with FC Naţional Bucureşti, he was loaned to Rapid Bucureşti.

*He joined Steaua in 2004 for a fee of € 40.000 and quickly earned himself a place in the first eleven.
