Dr. Karl Claudius Garrison, Jr., a civil rights activist, Episcopal priest and college professor was serving as rector of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Harstsville, SC. Her mother, Nancy Little Garrison was a direct descendant ofRoger Williams , founder of the state ofRhode Island andJohn Howland ,John Alden andPriscilla Mullins , three passengers aboardThe Mayflower .She is author of The New Atheist Crusaders and Their Unholy Grail (Thomas Nelson, January 2008), Rising from the Ashes: Rethinking Church (Seabury Books, 2007), and
