Gladstone Park Secondary College

Gladstone Park Secondary College

Gladstone Park Secondary College is a public state school in Melbourne, Australia, founded in 1975.

The school has around 1500 matriculated students, a figure which has remained constant for over a decade. When it first opened, Gladstone Park Secondary School (GPSC) quickly became the largest school in terms of matriculated students within a 10 km radius, a position which it still holds today. Its uniforms were brown and gold up until the early 1990's, when the school council introduced a uniform consisting of a white polo shirt with a green logo and grey cotton shorts in summer for boys and a green chequered dress for girls. The winter uniform consists of grey cotton pants and a green cotton jumper with a yellow emblem for both boys and girls. In winter there is also the option of a blue bomber jacket.(no longer applicable for all students)

It has a large sports program which has seen over 20 teams win world championships in sports such as basketball and badminton and soccer and rugby union and golf.

The school has a special disability partnership with the local TAFE institutes, where most GPSC graduates enroll to do apprenticeships or diplomas.

The school also has available to its students positions such as Peer support leaders and Captaincy in areas like college houses and also school captains.

Gladstone Park takes pride in its mulitcultural society and tries to foster a culture of respect. They have values; Cooperation, Responsibility, Persistence, Tolerance, Honesty, Respect and make sure these values are upheld by students whenever they represent the school in extracurricular activities and even in the solitude of their own school yards.

Gladstone Parks recent refurbishment and improvement has been the result of a change in leadership and perhaps with the implementation of new government bonuses. Gladstone Park is currently under renovation and the whole block within the school facility has been knocked down for the introduction of the 500 new computers, promised to the School.

Gladstone Park through its great academic and extracurricular success has gained a great reputation and has become one of the more prestigious academic organisations in Melbourne.

The current principal of Gladstone Park Secondary College is Robert Lamb.
