2003 General Assembly of IAPSS the association has maintained a permanent seat inLjubljana ,Slovenia .IAPSS represents some 10,000 students of political science worldwide and works in partnership with the
International Political Science Association (IPSA) and other international bodies to develop the study ofpolitical science worldwide.History
In
1996 political science students fromLeiden ,The Netherlands visited colleagues in Rome, Italy. At this meeting the idea of an international association for students in political science was discussed. In1998 the first General Assembly of what would come to be known as IAPSS was held inLeiden ,The Netherlands and the association was incorporated under Dutch law in that year.By the end of
1999 IAPSS had grown to encompass 20 member associations from 15 countries acrossEurope andAfrica . By2008 IAPSS had gained member associations from most European states as well asPeru ,US ,Russia andMexico .Today IAPSS has member associations from more than 40 countries worldwide and individual members from even more. Including individual members and the members of Association Members, IAPSS claims some 10,000 affiliated students on every continent.
IAPSS General Assembly
The IAPSS General Assembly is the main decision making body of the association. The General Assembly meets annually to decide on the future direction of IAPSS and to elect students to act as members of the various IAPSS committees.
The location and theme of the General Assembly conference varies each year. The cities that have hosted a General Assembly and the themes of the conferences so far are:

"The IAPSS Newsletter" is an occasional communication to all members of IAPSS which includes news from the Executive Committee about IAPSS events, future plans of the Association and reports from IAPSS Officers around the world, including its representative to the
Council of Europe . The IAPSS Newsletter is distributed viaemail to IAPSS members."
A Different View ", popularly known as ADV, is the monthly political magazine of IAPSS. It includes academic and opinion articles written by both members and non-members of IAPSS from around the world. It is published as aPDF document on the IAPSS website every month. Previously edited by Klavdija Pojbic(Slovenia ),Berekashvili Bakari,Qehajaj Irma, Editor-in-Chief is Dr. Hortenzia Hosszu (Hungary )."" is a fully
peer reviewed academic journal . Managed by an internationalEditorial Board (which, in 2008/09, includes representatives fromUnited Kingdom ,France ,Peru andFrance ) and drawing on internationally recognised reviewers, the journal is published twice annually. One issue is exclusively published online while the other is published online and inhard copy .IAPSS also maintains a
