Bogshed were an independent band formed in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire, England in 1985, originally as The Amazing Roy North Penis Band.cite book |last=Strong |first=Martin C. |title=The Great Alternative & Indie Discography |year= 1999 |publisher=Canongate |isbn=0-86241-913-1 ]

Not really sounding like anyone before or since, they had much in common with some of the bands on the "Ron Johnson" label. They released two albums and a several singles as well as recording five Peel Sessions, [ [http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/johnpeel/artists/b/bogshed/ Bogshed at the BBC's "Keeping It Peel" website] ] before splitting in 1987.

Bogshed are notable for their appearance on the C86 compilation, and for the fact that the term "shambling" was coined by John Peel to describe their sound, although the term later became more commonly used to describe bands such as The Pastels.
