"Once In A Lifetime" was the Estonian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000, performed in English by Ines. It is an up-tempo number, with Ines singing about her need to take life by the horns as she is only seventeen once (she was in fact 18 at the time).

The song was performed fourth on the night (following the United Kingdom's Nicki French with "Don't Play That Song Again" and preceding France's Sofia Mestari with "On aura le ciel"). At the close of voting, it had received 98 points, placing 4th in a field of 24.

Prior the contest in Stockholm, Ines was a clear favourite and was predected to win hands down by numerous polls and votings (e.g. bettings on William Hill and online voting on www.kolumbus.fi/jarpen).

Ines was supported on stage by 5 backing vocalists, Kaire Vilgats, Maiken, Jelena Juzvik, Pearu Paulus, one of the composers, and Tanel Padar, her boyfriend at the time.[1]

It was succeeded as Estonian representative at the 2001 Contest by Tanel Padar and Dave Benton with "Everybody".
