William "Wil" Jon Shipley (born
October 16 ,1969 ) is aMacintosh software developer, best known for foundingThe Omni Group in 1989, where he did consulting work and developed software for theNextStep operating system, Rhapsody and laterMac OS X . His firm was one of a relative few to develop forRhapsody , with the company'sOmniWeb becoming the most popular browser for the platform. He went on to found a second notable software firm,Delicious Monster , withMike Matas in 2004.
