Bob Babbitt (born Robert Kreinar in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ) is an American bassist, most famous for his work as a member ofMotown Records ' studio band, theFunk Brothers , from 1966–1972. Babbitt traded off sessions with original Motown bassistJames Jamerson .
