- Bear River State Park
Bear River State Park is a
state park located just outside ofEvanston, Wyoming .The park was established in 1991, and lends its name to the river that runs through it. The Bear River, was named as such by trappers in the 1800s due to the many bears that frequented the area. Bear River State park offers ideal areas forpicnicking ,hiking ,wildlife viewing,remote control car s and many other activities. The annualBear River Rendezvous is held in the park on the weekend beforeLabor Day .Trails
The park contains convert|300|acre|km2 of land and is connected to Evanston via the "BEAR Project" a greenbelt activity offered by the city. The park contains nearly convert|3|mi|km of foot trails, including convert|1.2|mi|km of paved trail and an arched footbridge that crosses the river. Another convert|1.7|mi|km of packed gravel trails are on the west side of the river. The foot trails in the park are also frequented by cross country skiers in the winter.

Bear River State Park is home to a small head of captive
