7Seas "(a.k.a. Seven-Seas Global Intelligence Group)" is a self-described "Global Security and Intelligence Team" formed after the
September 11, 2001 attacks . The group was formed by contributing members of the alneda forum at itshappening.com (alneda.com ). Brent Astley ofNorwood, Ontario , went on to lead the group that has been in operation since January 2003 whose objective is to gather intelligence to disruptterrorism .Background
The team consisted of seven amateur computer sleuths from
Australia ,Canada ,Singapore , and theUnited States . One of the better known members isShannen Rossmiller — whose testimony in the United States' case againstRyan G. Anderson — resulted in a life sentence for the National Guardsman convicted of attemptedespionage . She also made an appearance in a documentary from theBBC entitled "The New al Qaeda". Following the unwanted publicity from the Anderson case, Rossmiller expressed concern that the group's effectiveness may have been compromised.Astley since went on to form
