Isidoro Ocampo (
20 June 1910 ,Veracruz —4 February 1983 ,Mexico City ) was a Mexican artist.Ocampo completed training as a merchant. From 1928 to 1932 he attended evening classes at the "Academy of Arts" in San Carlos. In 1929 he became a member of the workshop for book art. He created more than 200
erasure s,woodcut s and lithographies. He taught arts at several schools and illustratedbook s,newspaper s andmagazine s for the publishing houseImprenta y Editorial Cultura . In 1936 he became a member of the "Liga de Escritores y Artistas Recolucionarios" (league of the revolutionary writers and artist, LEAR). In 1937 he worked alongsideAlberto Beltrán ,Angel Bracho ,Leopoldo Méndez ,Pablo O´Higgins ,Raúl Anguiano and other artists of theTaller de Gráfica Popular (workshop of the popular grapic artists, TGP).His first single exhibition took place in 1941. Further exhibitions followed. In 1949 Ocampo was involved in the establishment of the
Sociedad para el Impulso de las Artes Plásticas . As a representative of Mexican graphics he participated in the 1952Biennale inVenice .Ocampo was married to
Nicolasa Bilboa .
