Mary Ross (born
1950 inNew York , U.S.) is afine art photographer andvisual artist . In1976 , she began using video and computers to produce still images on film. As one of the first fine art photographers to do so, her photographs provide some of the earliest examples of how photography, video and computer technology converged in the 1970’s, emerged in the 1980’s, and eventually evolved intodigital photography . She has worked with photography, video and computer art since the early 1970s. Her video and computer photographs and video art have been featured in hundreds of multimedia performances that she has produced in collaboration with her husband, composer and performerEric Ross , as well as various other musicians and dancers.
