Hambleton inNorth Yorkshire ,England .The village used to be known as "Long Cowton" and before that "Magna Cowton".
The village lies just to the west of the
East Coast Main Line and was once served byCowton railway station about half a mile away.All Saints Church is situated to the west of the village; it is a red brick structure erected in 1910. There is evidence of a 13th-century church in the village. Cowtoncemetery is situated about half a mile west of the village; it lies on the road towardsNorth Cowton .The village school is called [http://www.eastcowton.n-yorks.sch.uk East Cowton Church of England Primary School] .
