- 3000-500 Club
In
Major League Baseball , the 3000/500 Club is an informal term applied to the small group of players who have collected 3,000 or more career hits and 500 or more careerhome run s. Only four players' lifetime statistics qualify for the club.Career records such as this club are typically testaments to a player's skill, consistency, and longevity. In this case, while it may be harder for a player to muscle home runs later in his career, continued sharp skills will keep him in the lineup continually adding hits. Of the four men listed below, Eddie Murray is the only member of the Club to get his 3,000th hit before his 500th home run.
