Santa Cruz de la Serós is an
Aragon ese village in the province ofHuesca ,Spain . Located 88 kilometers from the city of Huesca, its beautiful vernacular architecture and its location at a hill side on the way to the Monastery ofSan Juan de la Peña , are some points of interest.But the village is known for its two Romanesque churches of which the village take the name: Serós is a derivation of Sorores, Sister nouns.
*Church of Saint Mary (former monastery): The impressive church was built in the
11th century and it is one of the most interesting volumes in Aragonese Romanesque due to the elevated chamber over the vaults of the main nave and the tower.
*Church of San Caprasio (Saint Caprasius), built in the beginning of the11th century , it is aFirst Romanesque church.
