Sudamericano Femenino

The Sudamericano Femenino is the main competition in women's football (soccer) between national teams of the CONMEBOL Confederation.

In the first two editions of the tournament only one team (the champion) qualified for the FIFA Women's World Cup. In the third edition the champion qualified automatically, while the runner-up of the tournament faced a team from the CONCACAF in a play-off match to reach the World Cup. In the fourth edition two automatic spots were given for the 2003 World Cup: to the champions and the second placed team respectively, a situation remaining for the 2007 edition.

There is also an Under 20 and Under 17 versions.
