|South East Radio is a local radio station in the Ireland owned by a number of local shareholders in Co. Wexford, broadcasting to the county of Wexford. Overlooking the town’s historic main Quay they are based in a 19th century Georgian style building, formerly a branch of the National bank. The station was licenced in 1989, having been one of two applicants for the Wexford licence (the unsuccessful applicant was former pirate station Community Radio Wexford/CRW). The station launched at 3PM on October 20th 1989. The first two pieces of music on the station were 'Boolavogue' by Paddy Reilly and 'Gone Forever' by Cry Before Dawn.

South East Radio's studio and office complex is based in Wexford Town. The station was initially assigned 99.2fm by the IRTC. This was changed in the early to mid 1990's to make way for Lyric FM.Programming
The station broadcasts mainly A.C, Pop & M.O.R music, aimed at 25-55 year olds. Its programmes include "South East Radio's Full Irish Breakfast" from 7-10am, Morning Mix 10am-12noon, "South East Radio's BIGBIG Show" and "Lunchtime Request Hour" with Alan Ennis 12-3pm, "South East Radio's Classic Gold" with Jimmy Ryan 3-4pm and "T-Time" with Tony Kehoe from 5.30-7pm. The station broadcasts "South East Radio News" on the hour (with headlines every 20 minutes at breakfast) along with sports throughout the day, Travel News and "South East Weather" on the half hour, every hour.
Outside Broadcasts are quite common in the station, they mainly happen at the weekends. At the weekend "South East Radio Sport" features heavily with dedicated "Sports Hours" at 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday evenings. "South East Radio's Power FM Party Nights" feature non-stop music at 9pm on weekend nights.
