Robert Meadmore is recognised as one of the UK's finest musical theatre artists, having starred in many of the biggest hit shows in London's West End which include "Phantom of The Opera", "Brigadoon", "My Fair Lady", "Bless the bride", "The Gondoliers", "Oklahoma!" and "Camelot". In London fringe he has also appeared in "Starting Here Starting Now","Side by Side by Sondheim","It Takes Two", "Moving On" and "Dorothy Fields Forever". In Chichester his appearances include "Cavell", "Patriot For Me" (also London and USA), "Goodbye Mr Chips", "Valmouth" and "Pickwick" (also London and National Tour) and in rep "Oleanna", "Educating Rita" and "Wife Begins at Forty".
His varied career has seen him appearing in concert with many of the world's leading orchestras alongside countless stars of the musical and classical world. In 2001 Robert was invited to partake in the Royal Variety Performance singing "All I Ask of You" with Charlotte Church, as a tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber. He also sang at the 2002 Queens Golden Jubilee celebrations in the Mall, London, leading a crowd of over fifty thousand, including the Royal Family, in singing "You'll Never Walk Alone".
2005 saw Robert record his first classical album "After a Dream", prompting Classic FM to describe him having "the voice to float away on". The album reached number 2 in the UK Classical Charts and was nominated for an "Album of The Year" Classical Brit Award.
Film and TV include: Shadow Play, Tonight at 8.30, Saturday Night Out, Julia and Company, Live from Lincoln Centre A Tribute to Alan Jay Lerner, Treacherous Crossing and Women of Windsor.
Robert is a regular radio broadcaster and has sung on many especially recorded versions of musicals for BBC Radio 2 including "Mack and Mabel", "Mame", "My Fair Lady", "La Cage Aux Folles", "Hello Dolly" and "Camelot". Along with many cast recordings cd's include "The songs of Maltby and Shire", "Moving On" and "That’s What Friends are For" with Peter Land, directed by Gillian Lynne and performed "in concert" in both New York and London.
