Overwatering

Overwatering

Overwatering is the act of giving a plant too much water. Overwatering occurs when a plant is watered often without allowing the soil to dry first. Many houseplant owners do this because they want to do something good for their plants. They think that they are being helpful. On the contrary, they are actually doing more harm than good. Overwatering can lead to all sorts of problems, one of them being root rot.
