Paulo Jorge, full name Paulo Jorge Vieira Alves (born May 5, 1981 in Maia), is a Portuguese footballer who currently plays with C.S. Marítimo, as a winger/midfielder, preferably on the right.

Club career

After six seasons with second division's FC Maia (including loan spells with third-level teams Pedrouços A.C. and F.C. Infesta), Jorge ended up making a move to Porto side Boavista F.C. in 2005-06.

After a fantastic spell at the "axadrezados" ("chequereds"), where he became a key figure leading the right flank, having scored 4 league goals, clubs like Valencia CF and PSV Eindhoven envied his services but, after turning down an offer from champions F.C. Porto, Jorge joined S.L. Benfica on July 2006. In his first game with the Lisbon side he scored the "reds" only goal against AEK Athens FC in a pre-season 3-1 defeat, after which he started in UEFA Champions League matches against FK Austria Wien and FC København.

However, after having appeared sparingly for Benfica, Jorge was loaned to the Spanish side Málaga CF, which achieved La Liga promotion in 2007-08.

On July 2008, he was definitely sold, joining fellow first divisioner C.S. Marítimo, in Madeira.
