[cite book | last = Wu | first = William F. | title = The Yellow Peril: Chinese-Americans in American Fiction, 1850-1940 | year = 1982 | publisher =
Archon Books | location = Hamden, CT | language= English] (Wu has stated that he dislikes the term "Sino-American", while admitting that he himself, as a fiction author, has a penchant for giving his stories Oriental protagonists even when their ethnicity is not relevant to the plot.)Because "William" and "Wu" are such commonplace names, some of William F. Wu's achievements have inevitably been misattributed to another William Wu, or vice versa. William F. Wu has made a hobby of locating, contacting and meeting other people named William Wu (with or without the same middle initial). Photographs of Wu posing with his various namesakes have occasionally been published in "
Locus " and other fan publications.References
