Life and career
Olver is a native of
Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan , and grew up in Toronto.Fergie Olver , her father, worked atCFTO-TV as a broadcaster for close to two decades onToronto Blue Jays telecasts and a game show called "Just Like Mom", which became the longest running game show in Canadian history.Carrie Olver's career began in 1990 on Canadian home shopping channels, before she moved to the American
Home Shopping Network , where she worked in the US for over 2000 hours. From 1998, she hosted "Spectacular Spas ", a half-hour travel program where she would visit some of the world's top spas. She would often find herself in abikini for some swimming, on amassage table for a world-class treatment or eating meals prepared by agourmet chef.For "Spectacular Spas", Carrie was nominated for a
Gemini Award in 2003 for the program in the category "Best Host or Interviewer in a Lifestyle/General Interest Program or Series", but lost toDebbie Travis .She can now be seen on
