Vyara town was ruled by the
Gaekwad s of thePrincely State ofBaroda and it still has a fort of the Gaekwad family. The population residing here mainly consists of theChaudhary , Gamit,Patel ,Shah ,Desai ,Rana , Darji, andMaharashtrian Communities. The town has large numbers of migrants fromUttar Pradesh andRajasthan . Vyara is also the birthplace of Amarsingh Chaudhry (died 2003), the ex-Chief Minister ofGujarat State.Vyara is the headquarters of the
