Vincent Illuzzi was born in
Montpelier, Vermont , onSeptember 17 ,1953 . He received anA.B. degree fromSt. Michael's College in 1975 and aJ.D. degree fromVermont Law School in 1978.Illuzzi is married to
Eileen Maher . The couple lives in Derby and have one son.Illuzzi is an attorney.
Public life

Illuzzi was first elected to the Senate in 1980 and has been re-elected every two years ever since.
In the Senate, he has served since as Republican leader. He had previously been assistant Republican leader twice (1991–1992 and 1997–2004) and assistant
minority leader (1985–1988).Other government service
As well as serving as a senator, Illuzzi holds the office of Essex County
State's attorney , to which he was first elected in 1998.He also serves on the Governor's Committee on Children and Youth and the Governor's Commission on the Administration of Justice.
