Bickers joined
Colenso Parade in 1985, leaving a year later to joinThe House of Love aslead guitarist . Despite critical acclaim, Bickers had difficulty adjusting to fame. This was exacerbated when the band signed to major label Fontana, to record their secondalbum , and he left the band. Following his departure, Bickers formed Levitation withdrummer David Francolini , for whom he was the main songwriter and lead singer.When Levitation split in 1993, Bickers formed a new band, Cradle, releasing one studio album, "Baba Yaga" (1996) before vocalist Caroline Tree left and the band split. After working in production, Bickers resurfaced with a new band called Monkey 7 in 2000.
After reconciling with fellow songwriter
