- Razakars (Hyderabad)
Razakars were a private islamic militia organized by
Qasim Razvi to support the rule ofOsman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII and resist the integration ofHyderabad State inIndia .Conversely, the people of
Telangana under the leadership ofSwami Ramanand Tirtha , fought for the integration of state with rest of India. Eventually, theIndian army routed the Razakars and the group was disbanded afterIndia annexed the state.Qasim Razvi , the military chief of Hyderabad state, fled toPakistan where he was grantedasylum . Majlis party, a contemporay political party in the present Hyderabad owes its foundations to Qasim Razvi.External links
