Joseph Troski (born Joseph George Troskie on
May 22 ,1979 ) is a composer, singer, producer. Joseph began writing and performing music since at the age of five. Born in the suburbs ofJohannesburg , South Africa, Joseph Troski is most known for his compositions for Theater and his work as Producer and Songwriter throughout the United States and Europe. At age eight, Joseph moved to Brooklyn, NY where he was raised by his mother and sister. TROSKI is a self-taught talent, teaching himself to sing and play while practicing at friends' homes, hotels, music stores and found himself cast as the lead in productions of Little Shop of Horrors andJesus Christ Superstar while attending St. Aloysius Catholic School in Queens, NY. JOSEPH went on to attend Manhattan'sFiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (Television's 'Fame' school) where he studied Fine Art.
Performing, Producing and Scoring
By the age of 18, Troski began performing his original songs in clubs and restaurants throughout NYC's East Village and
Brooklyn such asCBGB . At age 19, without any formal musical training, Troski was offered a seat to study in thePurchase College Conservatory of Music, a recording contract from an independent label, and a publishing deal. As resident Composer and Sound Designer of Deep Ellum Ensemble Theater Company, Joseph Troski has scored multiple works for the stage including "Dr. Tedrow's Last Breath" an original play written and directed byMatthew Earnest about the worst natural disaster in U.S. history, “The Great Storm” of 1900 in Galveston, Texas which destroyed the city and claimed 8000 lives, with choreography by Tina Fehlandt, a founding member of the world-renownedMark Morris Dance Group.Selected works
