Louis Van Gaal 'sFC Barcelona , before moving back to Holland and Fortuna Sittard, retiring at almost 37 in 2002.Although Hesp was in
Euro 1996 and 1998 World Cup Holland squads, he never actually won a cap for the national team, acting as understudy to both first-choiceEdwin van der Sar and his substituteEd de Goeij .His brother Danny was also a professional football player.
