Barbara K. MacDonald

Barbara K. MacDonald (born Barbara Kooyman, 4 October 1958 [http://www.locos.no/oktober.html] , Wausau, Wisconsin) is an American folk singer-songwriter. She was half of the duo known as Timbuk3, along with her then husband, Pat MacDonald. They are best known for the single, "The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades" (1986), which reached #19 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S., and #21 in the UK Singles Chart.

She now goes by the name Barbara K. McKenna, and crafted a number of new songs by 1998, which she performed for the first time with Wally Ingram, who had worked as Timbuk 3's drummer over the previous decade and a half. By 1998, Ingram was touring with David Lindley, who heard her songs and asked her to open for the remainder of his tour.

MacDonald branched off as a solo artist early in 2000 with the album, "Ready". The release was issued by Fire Sister Records, a record label that she founded.
