Banana ketchup or banana sauce is a prepared
condiment made frombanana fruit mashed, withsugar ,vinegar , and spices, and sometimes colored with red food coloring to look more like tomatoketchup . Banana ketchup is made in thePhilippines ,Hawaii , and the West Indies.It was said to have been invented in the Philippines during the Japanese Occupation of the country, 1942-45,Fact|date=March 2007 when American-made condiments became virtually impossible to find. Banana ketchup is often used as dressing for Filipino fried chicken (not breaded) and mixed with local copies of
