Feline (comics)

Feline (comics)

Feline was a character who first appeared in Malibu Comics' "Freex" #10, as a member of the "Academy of the New Elite", an organization created by Contrary to teach young Ultras to use their powers. She also appears in the "Godwheel" series.

Fictional Character Biography

The aforementioned Academy come into conflict with the Freex on more than one occasion, as Contrary does not easily take no to her recruitment effort requests.

Feline and several of her friends help bury the deceased member of Freex, Michael Rafani, at Contrary's Mt. Shasta citadel.

Godwheel

Feline is featured in the "Godwheel" limited series. She is one of many superpowered individuals chosen by the deity Argus to help retrieve needed keys. The objects, each in their own form, when combined with the "Crucible of Life", will grant wishes.

Over the course of the adventure, Feline suffers the loss of her friend Flygirl, murdered by the villain Lord Pumpkin. She also gains control of one of the keys, called the 'Windsword'. It affects her mind, attuning itself to her body. Feline even threatns the life of her friend Pressure, declaring she would kill her if an attempt was made to take the sword.

Or so she thinks. Pressure is in reality, Rune, an energy vampire who has been subtly manipulating Feline and other circumstances for his own end. Feline is egged on until she puts the sword into the Crucible. The real Pressure is found but much too late. A chain of events leads to Argus gaining massive power. Absolutely everyone still standing (Lord Pumpkin had earlier been killed by Argus) works together and aided by the Marvel Comics god of Thunder, Thor sends the villain into another dimension.

In gratitude, Thor offers to send the assembled beings wherever they wish. Feline requests to be able to retrieve Flygirl's body. The resulting magical teleportation spell is interrupted by Rune; Feline is last seen gasping in astonishment as Thor grapples with Rune and the magic pulls the group away to an unknown fate.

Powers and Abillities

Feline, true to her name, had a catlike appearance and "catty" personality, with fur, claws, pointed ears and a tail. She possesses enhanced strength, reflexes and agility, and her claws can slice through steel.
