"Turn It On Again" is a single from Genesis, from their 1980 album "Duke".
The lyrics deal with a man who does nothing more than watch his
television , so much that he becomes obsessed with the people he watches on it, believing them to be his friends. The song is also characterised by a rhythmic structure uncharacteristically complex for pop music, with verse/chorus sections in 13/4, while the intro and bridge sections are in 4/4.
"Turn It On Again", one of the band's most recognisable tunes, has been a favourite in Genesis's live shows. Consequently, the group's 1999 compilation album ' was named after it, as was the band's 2007 ' reunion project. The song was featured prominently during the 2007 tour, albeit transposed down a key to account for the deepening of Phil Collins's voice over the years.
"Turn It On Again" has been recently used as background music for a
GMC commercial. It is also used in the game "". It was also featured inDream Theater 's "Big Medley" on the album "A Change of Seasons ".Credits
