Mazun

Mazun or Mazun Ceremony (Azeri: Məzun) is graduation day in Azerbaijan. It is traditionally held on 29 June. During the day the entire country celebrates the graduation of university students of Azerbaijan.

The Mezun Ceremony was originally started by the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1919 to promote education in the country. The first university to participate in the ceremony is the Baku State University which was also established in 1919.
