Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak Campus) is the only foreign branch campus of Swinburne University of Technology (Melbourne, Australia) located in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia

History

Swinburne Sarawak was established in August 2000, operating in partnership with the Sarawak Foundation and the Sarawak Higher Education Foundation. Originally an institute known as Swinburne Sarawak Institute of Technology, it achieved university status in 2004, with student population increasing to 700. Works on a RM110 million campus expansion started in late 2005, aiming to boost student capacity to 5,000 and further expand its facilities. The Grand Opening ceremony for the new extended campus was held on 23 August, 2008.
