Kurşunlu, Bursa

Kurşunlu is a coastline within the border of Gemlik district in Bursa Province of Turkey. The region is one of the ancient sub-districts of the Bursa. It is placed between hills about convert|1000|ft|m|abbr=on. high and the Gulf of Gemlik in the Marmara Sea.

History

In Kurşunlu, there is a village above the hills called Gündoğdu and an ancient monastery called Hagios Aberkios lies within its neighborhood. This monastery is thought to have been built by the ancient Greeks before the Ottoman period. But it is not known by the public and lies there abandoned. According to the new project of the Kurşunlu municipality it is declared that the Hagios Aberkios will soon be turned into a museum.
