HMCS Thiepval

HMCS Thiepval

HMCS "Thiepval" was one of twelve sclass|Battle|trawlers used by the Royal Canadian Navy.

On 27 February 1930 HMCS "Thiepval" hit an uncharted rock and sunk to its resting-place in the channel that now bears its name in the Broken Islands of Barkley Sound on British Columbia's west coast. The wreck is accessible to sport divers as she lies in just 45 feet of water. Her deck gun was salvaged many years later and now is displayed in the fishing village of Ucluelet.
