Camiguin de Babuyanes is an active
volcano onCalayan Island , one of theBabuyan Islands , (18°50'N, 121°51.6'E) in thePhilippines . It is under the political jurisdiction of the province ofCagayan in the admnistrative region ofCagayan Valley .Physical features
Camiguin de Babuyanes is classified as a stratovolcano with an elevation of 712 meters and a base diameter of 3,200 meters.
Eruptions
It had a recorded eruption in 1857.
In 1991, there were reports of volcanic activity but instrumental investigations showed no sign of unusual volcanic activity, such as intense fumarolic activity, felt earthquakes, fissuring at the volcano’s slopes and smell of sulfur odor.
Camiguin de Babuyanes is one of the 22 active volcanoes in the Philippines. The others are
