SS Audacious (1913)

SS Audacious was a cargo ship used by the United States during World War II.

"Audacious" was bought by the US Government in 1941 from the Austro-Americana Line (Austrian flag). The ship was originally built in 1913 and named "Belvedere". Sailed from the port of Trieste in service to South America and New York.

In June 1944, the ship, as the "SS Audacious", was scuttled off the Normandy coast.
