Archbald, Pennsylvania . He graduated fromFordham University inNew York City in 1930 and took postgraduate work atColumbia University in New York City. He served as a member of the Department of Public Assistance Board ofLackawanna County, Pennsylvania Scoblick was elected as a Republican to the
79th United States Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation ofJohn W. Murphy and at the same time was elected to the80th United States Congress . He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1948, as his political viability was damaged owing to his support of the Taft-Hartley bill in a district where one of the chief occupations at the time was coal mining.ources
