His usual position of choice is at second-row forward.

He was selected at outside centre for GPS firsts, but withdrew that year. The next year, he progressed through the Schools' Rugby Union representative ranks to represent Australia A.

Sydney Roosters 2010-present
Sydney Roosters have signed Gold Coast Titans backrower Daniel Conn until 2012. The Roosters believe 23-year-old Conn will add some much-needed depth to the club's back row, and likened him to club stalwart Craig Fitzgibbon.
Although being quite short for a second row forward, Daniel weighed in at 106 kilo's and coach Brian Smith states "he's a ball of muscle". Conn says that he weighed about 103 and that he's about 182–184 cm tall.
Conn is able to play for Greece and New Zealand Māori.
He has been forced to retire at age 25 due to spinal cord injuries.[1]
Controversies
Michael Weyman incident
In round 4, 2008, whilst playing for the Gold Coast Titans Conn had his nose broken when he was king-hit by then-Canberra Raiders forward Michael Weyman. Although Conn wanted to go on with the tackle, he was forced off the field through the blood rule, and Weyman was sent off and banned for six matches.
The two went head to head again in the 2010 NRL Grand Final when Conn, playing for the Sydney Roosters, was booked for a high shot on the now-Dragons forward. The Roosters lost the Grand Final 32-8.
Retirement
In Round 12 of the 2011 NRL season, Conn received a major neck injury which needed major surgery on to have his spine fused. A week later he was told that there was a high possibility that if he continued with his career that he may not see the future. Even though he retired at the age of 25, he believes it was the best choice.
