Béla Andreas Réthy (born
14 December 1956 inVienna ) is a German sports reporter of Hungarian ancestry.When Réthy was born, his parents had to leave their home country because of the
Hungarian Revolution . They emigrated toBrazil where they stayed until they came toGermany in1968 . Here Réthy got his certificate of having passed theAbitur so that he was able to attendWiesbaden University where he studiedliterature andjournalism .In the meantime he worked in the sports archive of theZDF and becamefreelancer later.Since1987 he has been salaried.His first live-broadcast was during an international football match between the U16-teams of
Germany andIreland in1991 .In addition he commentated the finals of
